Robyn Whitaker
I am a New Testament scholar in Naarm (Melbourne), Australia. I currently work as Associate Professor of New Testament at Pilgrim Theological College in the University of Divinity and as Director of The Wesley Centre for Theology, Ethics, and Public Policy. Prior to this I lectured in Bible at Trinity Theological School, Melbourne, and was a postdoctoral fellow at Union Theological Seminary in New York.
My research explores the relationship between the New Testament and ancient visual culture, rhetoric, ancient apocalyptic, and biblical interpretation. I have published on the Book of Revelation, the Gospels (Luke, Mark, and Matthew), 1 Peter, rhetoric and gender, and eschatology. My most recent books are Even the Devil Quotes Scripture: Reading the Bible on Its Own Terms and Revelation for Normal People.
I regularly write for a wider audience. On this website you will find links to many of my popular articles, podcasts, and radio interviews in addition to published research.
Robyn tweets @robynjwhitaker and co-hosts a podcast for preachers called By the Well.
