Robyn Whitaker

I am a New Testament scholar in Naarm (Melbourne), Australia. I currently work as Associate Professor of New Testament at Pilgrim Theological College in the University of Divinity. Prior to this I lectured in Bible at Trinity Theological School, Melbourne, and was a postdoctoral fellow at Union Theological Seminary in New York.

My research explores the relationship between the New Testament and ancient visual culture, rhetoric, ancient apocalyptic, and biblical interpretation. I have published on the Book of Revelation, the Gospels (Luke, Mark, and Matthew), 1 Peter, rhetoric and gender, and eschatology. My most recent book is Even the Devil Quotes Scripture: Reading the Bible on Its Own Terms.
